Self Reflection

In my opinion the purpose of writing blogs was to make us more aware of what we were writing.  It worked for me.   By writing the blog I had to think about the subject I was writing about in more depth.  I learned to look at my writing from different perspectives.   I was thinking about who is my audience.   The blogging helped me to be more precise and to be aware of my audience and what I am saying to them. It also helped me to be more reflective and think about what I really thought of the subject. By choosing blogging rather than more traditional writing activities we learned how to go beyond the average writing exercise and put more of myself into the writing.

 

          I accomplished lots of things with my blog; now I know more about  Tennis which is my topic, for example I know about its history and fashions in tennis.  I also learned the rules for playing tennis. I also learned how to appreciate comments and reviews from my friends of my work and they made my blog good and they improved it. Now I have a better understanding of how to research things and how to use the internet carefully and effectively. I also now know how to write good essays and make them interesting. By making my essays interesting I learned how to be precise and to be careful.  There were many people who were going to read the blog so I had to be précis and careful.

 

One of the key concepts I learned was that in doing research I should go beyond the first item that pops up in my head.   I learned that there is more than Wikipidia available for me to use for good researching. In writing my blog I discovered the importance of having a good hook in the first sentence.   I also learned the importance of doing a theses sentence and to have a successful blog you need to have voice in your writing.

 

I learned a lot about doing research which will be useful in school and in college. I learned also to be honest in my writing and to give my freedom in writing and also my opinions.   

The History Of Tennis

The history of tennis dates several thousands years it was played for entertainment. The game was first created by the Europeans monks to be played for fun purpose during the religious ceremonies.

 

                        At that time when the European played tennis, first the ball was hit by hand .Then they came up with something called the racquet so that the players can strike the ball without hurting their hands .The first tennis ball was Wooden it was bouncy and had a leather skin on the ball also the ball was filled with cellulose material .This technique made tennis players play tennis easier and in a good way.

 

                        The technique was popular over time, in France where it was adopted by the royal family .During the period between the 16th and the 18th centuries, the game was called ‘Jeu de paumme’. The would shout out the word; tenez’ which meant play! They soon came to be called royal or playing real tennis. The French had their own way of playing the game and they made it simpler and easier.

 

                        First European got to know how to play, then the French, and the game soon spread to different parts of the world .The Russians, Canadians, Chinese, and the Indians soon became popular for knowing how to play the game. In 1874, Major Walter Wingfeild acquired the opatent rights for the equipments and rules for the game which bore close to the modern tennis. On the same year, the first tennis court and the rules of games underwent a fair amount of changes till the game which is played today.

           

                        Overall the game tennis is so different than the tennis we play today .It took time for the game to spread to different parts of the world. Each part of the world had their own way of playing the game.

Changes in Fashion in ladies Tennis

Fur, bustle, corsets are not usually, associated and with women tennis players .In fact the first women tennis players, played tennis wearing all of this and a hat. The tight colored costumes worn today by the Williams twins when playing tennis would shock the first tennis players.

  

The first women tennis player wore fur, bustle, corsets, long sleeves, and long skirts. In addition they also wore hats and the material of their clothes was heavy. The first women tennis players appareled in 1860’s; by the 1884 when they had first women Wimbledon championship they considered white as there dress color.

 

White continued the color for women’s tennis dress, there were many changes during the 1905-1919 .They stopped wearing bustles, corsets, and hats .But Dorothea Lambert Chambers still wore stiff heavy benedicts under her dress .In 1919 Suzanne Leangle wore cotton frock with short sleeves and delivered women from the corsets in the court.

 

The corsets and the bustle had gone by the 1919 and by the late 1930’s the ladies no longer were playing tennis with the dress .After the world war 1 the ladies wore shorts and shirts .Players were playing tennis easier like this .

 

Seleena Williams does not wear shorts and shirts she wears tight unusual outfits .Are there unusual things like the corsets? I don’t know Seleena does not wear these things she wears new modern dresses. And she is comfortable playing with it.

How to Play Tennis
Tennis is a sport played as singles or also can be played as doubles. The players use a racket to play and a ball to strike over the net. This game may be played indoors or outdoors.
While playing the game indoor or outdoor you have to warm up. There is a very simple routine that should become part of your normal tennis time. Warming up doesn’t take long but it will give you a great start. First you must run, sprint or jog for a little while. Take it nice and easy because you are not in a race, after a minute or two of this you will be ready for stretching.
•Stretching your legs. Put your hands to your shoes and that will hurt your hamstrings for a little while but it is ok so while reaching you will feel a slight pain but its ok because it’s worth the pain.
•While sitting, reach your hands to your toes and keep it for 5 seconds. You will feel a slight pain but it is helpful for you when you start playing the game.
Both of these stretches are worth the pain because when you start playing the game you won’t feel it as much.
After warming up, before playing the game you have to know the rules in order for you to play well. The rules are not that complicated but they are detailed. When playing singles, there is one person on each end of the court; and in doubles there are two on each side. To start the match, the player will toss the coin to decide one of three things.
•The player winning the toss can choose to serve.
•The player can choose to receive the serve.
•The player can choose which end to play from in the first game.
So you have to be good and careful with rules but it is ok to make a silly mistake but there are some things that are big that you have to get right.
When you get the rules you can do well in the game but there is another thing you also have to know about, the aim of playing. These are the things that you have to know about in order to tell yourself why you are playing it.
•You must get the ball over the net.
•The ball must land in the court on your opponents on the side of the net .If you always do these things guess what ?It will be impossible to lose .It sounds simple enough and it sounds easier because it is not that complicated .
Overall, playing tennis makes you fit and healthier and at the same time before playing any exercise you need to eat good and especially eat fruits because this is the only way you will be motivated and be fresh to play. Playing tennis is much more exciting than just looking at the matches because looking at the matches you will just sit and not do anything but playing it is more exciting and fun.

Sports fans get very excited supporting their favorite’s team or sports hero. However, I believe the most exciting thing about sport is participating yourself. Sometimes if you get a chance you just need to participate in a certain sport .Sport is not for the super fit they are for everyone.

Everyone can go walking and jogging it helps you get rid of stress. When you walk and get fresh air you just had made yourself relax and at the same time get rid of your stress. Stress is not a good thing so, if you want to get rid of it you just sometimes have to walk. Also old people when they walk they forget the things they were nervous about and think of good memories.

Not all sports are as relaxing as walking and jogging .Boxing and fighting are dangerous sports .They sometime can led to big problem and bad injuries. Sometimes people just have to not even bother doing that dangerous sport. But sometimes you can’t help it because you get really nervous you just want to fight, but in this case you just have to control yourself.

Disabled people can’t take part in a dangerous sport like boxing. But there are other sports instead that they can do. There are some people that are disabled but ,can sometime do sport .For example, people who have problems in their legs they can do swimming because swimming sometime just lets you use your hands to push the water. People who are disabled it does not mean that they can not do anything.

Overall sport is a good activity for you to do in life because you can be healthier and at the same time stronger and fit. I t is more exciting to take part in sport then just watching them. When you do sport you move your self and that helps your physical life. It’s good moving yourself then just sitting because when you move yourself you will get thinner .But if you do sport you has to eat a certain amount of food so that you can be healthier.

Tennis is one of my favorite sports because I like the sound of the ball when you hit it with the racket. I play tennis sometimes 2 times a week. I also like it because I have played it before ,watching the matches is not enough because playing is more funner than watching it. I started playing it since I was 10 years old ,badminton is the same put you play it with a flying ball ,but tennis you play it with a harder ball .Really I don’t watch the matches often.

Sport in general is good for you, running the mile is good because you burn fat and weigh less .Head to toe, tennis fall and get hurt with it because sometimes it can lead to a big injury so you have to be careful is the ultimate workout, because it is the funniest sport and it makes you healthier when you play it. Sports make you active even when you go to school you feel fresher and also you will concentrate. Sports is one  of the important activity in life , because if you just start eating a lot and don’t move you will be fat and not fit .Being fit is going to let you in a good body shape .

For tennis you have to wear a special tennis shoe that is just for tennis it the same as football you have to wear a special shoe as well. Sometimes if you wear a running shoe while you are playing tennis you will sometimes get injured or have a big problem because it is not suitable for tennis.

Head for playing now tennis will be the best sport.

Tennis is one of my favourite sports because I like the sound of the ball when you hit it with the racket . I play tennis sometimes 2 times a week . I also lie it because I have played it before ,watching the matches is not enough because playing is more funner than watching it.I started playing it since I was 100 years old ,bagmentin is the same put you play it with a flying ball ,but tennis you play it with a hareder ball .Really I dont watch the matches often.

Sport in generall is good for you , running the mile is good becsuse you burn fat and weigh less .Head to toe, tennis is the ultimate worksout ,because it is the funnist sport and it makes you healthier when you play it .

Head for playing tennis now it  will be the best sport
